GU10 Chelsea - CASA Adidas Cup Champions!

This class I tournament will be remembered for both its scorching hot weather as well as its high level of competition.  At the end of the weekend, one team emerged as U10 Girls champions – Walnut Creek Chelsea 04!!!  ChelseaThanks to its impenetrable defense and stellar goalkeeping, team Chelsea did not allow a single goal throughout the tournament.  And to match the intensity of the defense, the offense produced some spectacular performances, which included scoring eight goals in a single game.  But the most intense game was the championship game against an equally skilled host team, CASA BOCA 04.  Neither team scored during regulation so a thrilling PK session ensued, which Chelsea won 4-3.  Congratulations Team Chelsea!

BU14 Legends - Finalists at the Ballistic United Summer Classic

The Legends are off to a solid start to their U14 year with a strong showing at the Ballistic UnitedLegends Summer Classic. Solid work from new additions Dylan Barrett and Brayden Tomizaki helped the boys win their group with clean sheets, and only fell to the host team in the second golden goal overtime period of the final. With Paul Curtis' coaching and fantastic mentoring from the U18 Diablos, the Legends are developing a solid foundation for Fall league play and their first split season.

Coaches and Parent Code of Content

CoacingWe have an outstanding program here in WCSC and we tend to be the model of behavior on our sidelines vs. many other soccer clubs.  But we in the Walnut Creek Soccer Club feel it is important to keep our standards high and make sure everyone understands and knows what is expected of them when they represent WCSC.

2013/2014 Competitive Coaches of the Year

Sissi & GabeLast year, WCSC started an annual tradition of presenting a Coach of the Year award to two deserving candidates.  WCSC boasts one of the top competitive coaching staffs around with current and former college coaches, former professional players, NCAA National Championship winners, and former National team players donning the blue and white, and choosing the recipients is always a great challenge.   From the coaching staff, WCSC looks to honor one coach who works with younger age group teams, and another who works with our older teams.  In 2012/13 David Keane (younger) and Paul Curtis (older) won the inaugural WCSC Coach of the Year award for the prestigious work on and off the field.  In 2013/14 we are honoring two outstanding coaches in WCSC, Gabe Cienfuegos (youngers) and Sissi (olders).  Gabe is our Youth Boys Director and puts in long hours making sure our lads are developing and prepared for game day.  He is extremely well respected by parents and players alike, and his efforts are reflected in the players he passes on to their new coaches at the U11 age.  Sissi, one of the top female players to ever play the game,  is a tremendous role model for our girls. This past season, Sissi led our U16 Inferno girls to their best season ever!  She is extremely dedicated and committed to creating an soccer environment of growth and development for her players and teams.
Congrats to Gabe and Sissi!  Thank you for your hard work on behalf of WCSC.
