2010/11 Competitive Tryouts

Welcome to the WCSC 2010/2011 U8-U14 Competitive Tryouts 

CompPLEASE NOTE: Completion of the online registration is required for all players participating in tryouts.

ALSO NOTE: This registration is for players interested in trying out for our Competitive teams.  For players interested in playing in our House/Recreation program, that registration information will come out in mid February.

Sessions are planned to be held on grass fields. Please check the rain hotline at 925-256-3574.  In the event of rain, an alternate schedule will be posted.

Pre-Tryout Free Clinics

ClinicThe Walnut Creek Soccer Club will hold FREE pre-tryout clinics, conducted by our coaches. These clinics are available for both boys and girls ages U8-U14 (based on the 2010/11 Playing Matrix).

There are no pre-registration requirements, just show up at the listed time. A registration table will be located near the entrance to the playing field.

These Clinics are open to any player, regardless of previous level of play or Club affiliation!

Calling all Coaches!

CoachingIn order to better serve our community and players, we are changing the way we form our House/Recreation teams. In 2009 we formed teams based on the # of registered players, and then desperately searched for coaches.  In 2010, we will be changing our coach application process to improve our coaches, which will directly impact the enjoyment of the players.

If you are interested in being considered to coach or assistant coach a House/Recreation team during the Fall of 2010, we are now accepting applications. You can download, fill out, and email your application to our House Programs Director: Trish Coverston

U13 Dynamos Advance to Sweet 16 of CYSA State Cup!

Click for larger imageFresh from being Finalists in the President’s Cup in San Diego in January, the GU13 Walnut Creek Dynamos won their bracket at the CYSA State Cup in Hanford last weekend and will advance to the Sweet 16.

In Hanford, the Dynamos started off strong with a 2-1 victory over the ACC Mavericks Fury with goals by Emily Orwig (off an assist by Julia Epstein) and Katharine Torchio. Next up was a decisive 3-0 victory over the Stockton Storm with goals by Bailey McQuain, Zoe Ramer, and Kelly Ransom (with assists by Paige Blake and Phoebe Wixsom). In the final game, keeper Alyson Fornaci made 4 incredible saves to hold the Fig Garden FC to a 0-0 tie and secure the Dynamos’ spot in the Sweet 16. The Dynamos defense was awesome, allowing just the 1 goal through 3 State Cup games!

The Dynamos will play Clovis Cal Odyssey Red at Morgan Hill Soccer Complex Field 7 this Saturday, February 6th at 9:00 a.m.

GU13 Raptors - Advance to Round of 16

The Raptors advanced to the Round of 16 in the 2010 Assocation Cup after a successful weekend in Fremont. After Raptorsthree tough games against teams from Sacramento, Pleasanton and Redwood City, the Raptors placed 1st in their bracket to advance to next weekend's round in Morgan Hill.

 

GU13 Dynamos - State Cup Champions!

On December 20th, the Walnut Creek Dynamos bested a highly competitive Santa Rosa Blizzard in the NorCal State Cup Super 3 Final. The victory secured a 5th place finish out of 54 teams from all over Northern California.

BU10 United - State Cup Champs!

The WCSC U10 United Boys went 9-0 in Region 3-4 Gold League and won the U10 Boys Bronze 3 State Cup with a 7-1 record in BU10NorCal State Cup games including all rounds.

They all worked hard to get better as players and as a team throughout the season which was evident on how they finished the season.
